Vulnerability & the pathway to success

I’m learning that the only way to be successful is to be vulnerable. You have to put yourself out there for the world to see.

This can be so nerve racking.. especially when your a cancer who likes to keep her head firmly in her shell so no one can poke your soft belly and expose you ..

Some days I don’t feel like an artist or that I am in some way a fraud but honestly I think that means I’m on the right path. Artist sounds like such an important title .. like in order to be an artist you have to have sold thousands of dollars and had multiple shows and exhibits. In reality anyone can be artist.

I am also learning that you just have to do the thing .. 90% of succeeding is just starting and trying and learning and failing and trying again.

So in the spirit of being vulnerable here are the things I want to achieve for February

• Sell 10 works of art

• Get to 1,000 followers on SM

• Create a consistent art style recognizable as my own

• Sell a poem / art subscription that I mail out once a month

The biggest test for me will be releasing the poetry that seems so intimate but I want to do it because you know what I want to connect with people and I believe that the things I say have worth and substance and people will enjoy it when I share it.
